The Heroes League Wiki is the public wiki for the HeroesLeague.net web site. It is a public space to learn about and create content for each of us to become bigger heroes and to work to become super heroes.

Hero Definition: A person noted for feats of courage and nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life.

Super Hero Definition: An exceptionally skillful or successful person noted for feats of courage and nobility of purpose.

While few of us consider the possibility of sacrificing our lives, the pursuit of a noble goal is in fact a life sacrifice.

"As soon as sacrifice becomes a duty and necessity to mankind. I see no limit to the horizon which opens before him. "  - Ernest Renan

"If people knew what they were missing, they would give up everything they have to achieve it." - Belsebuub

"The important thing is this: To be able, at any moment, to sacrifice what we are for what we could become ." - Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

"Self sacrifice is the real miracle out of which all the reported miracles grow." - Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Super Hero Quotes

“It’s not dying that you need to be afraid of. It’s not having lived in the first place.” – Britt Reid, The Green Hornet

“Life doesn’t give us purpose. We give life purpose.” – The Flash

“I had my eyes opened. I came to realize that I had more to offer this world than just making things that blow up.” – Iron Man

“Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves back up.” – Batman

“No Matter how bad things get, something good is out there, over the horizon.” – Green Lantern

“You’re much stronger than you think you are. Trust me.” – Spiderman

“It’s not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.” – Batman

“When you decide not to be afraid, you can find friends in super unexpected places.” – Ms. Marvel

“With great power, comes great responsibility.” – Spiderman

“I wear a mask, and that mask is not to hide who I am, but to create who I am.” – Batman

“Doesn’t matter what the press says. Doesn’t matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn’t matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world – “No, you move.”” – Captain America

“You only have your thoughts and dreams ahead of you. You are someone. You mean something.” – Batman

“I believe there’s a hero in all of us, that keeps us honest, gives us strength, makes us noble, and finally allows us to die with pride. Even though sometimes we have to be steady, and give up the thing we want most. Even our dreams.” – Aunt May

“The door is more than it appears. It separates who you are from who you can be. You do not have to walk through it.” – Franklin Richards

Will you walk through the door? <b>

Most all real super heroes train to become Super Heros rather than being born to it or transformed. In other words it was their hard work and focus which made them into Super Heroes. There appear to be no shortcuts in the real world.

Real Life Super Heroes seldom look like comic book Heroes.  That does not make them any less Super Heroes.  It is not the costume that makes a super hero but rather their dedication, hard work and courage in pursuit of a noble cause that makes them a Super Hero. A short list of real life Super Heroes might include skier Lindsey Vonn,  rocket scientist Elon Musk, global warming activist Greta Thunberg, swimmer Michael Phelps, and politician Tulsi Gabbard.

The Essentials to Becoming a Super Hero

A Super Hero does not need super strength like Superman, Wonder Woman, Thor, or the Hulk. A Super Hero does not need cutting edge technology like Batman or Ironman. What a Super Hero needs is the courage to dedicate themselves to a cause larger than themselves. Of course super strength and advanced technology can be helpful in the pursuit one's cause.  A Super Hero develops all of their available Powers through training to be the strongest advocate for their cause.
